In 2005, I got my Masters in elementary education and teaching certification from the University of Michigan ELMAC program. Through this intensive program, I had a year-long internship in Nick Mosher's 5th grade classroom at Northside Elementary in Ann Arbor.

For an action research project, I wrote and developed this "Writing, Planning, and Animating a Haiku" language arts lesson. In my opinion, it was a meaningful experience that got the students thinking, connecting art with storytelling, working in teams, and writing with reason!
