... this is the online portfolio of Joyce Masongsong-Ray, an artist (illustration, graphic design, animation) and teacher in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Please pardon the dust... I'm currently re-vamping the entire site!! Will be done by Spring 2010. (For real this time!)

Past lives...
I've been a designer of children's activity toys and books and an animator/freelance illustrator for various academic institutions. I also worked as a fifth grade teacher and a middle school animation instructor. Once upon a time, I was even a college radio DJ. I have a collection of degrees including an M.A. in elementary education from the University of Michigan.

Currently...
I am engaged in the most tear-provoking yet rewarding job in the world - "Mommy" - to Beatrix and Patrick. In my meager spare time, I paint furry little animals and am in constant wonder of how educators can best utilize art and animation in a regular classroom environment.
